How many citations does my business need?
Quality and consistency matter more than count, but as a benchmark, 60–100 clean citations puts most single-location Indian businesses on level footing with local competitors. Competitive metro categories may need more.
How long until citations affect my rankings?
Directories take 2–6 weeks to index and for Google to re-crawl them. Expect ranking effects to appear gradually over 1–3 months rather than immediately.
Are paid directory listings worth it?
Sometimes. Justdial and a few industry-specific platforms send real enquiries in India, which makes them worth paying for on their own merit. Most others we submit to free tiers.
What if my address has changed?
